Machine Learning Beats DOTA Champs!

How do you get really good at a game? Play it a bunch of times. Instead of playing in real time with other humans, they just play with itself thousands and thousands of times. At first, it makes random moves. Over time, the machine starts to learn and learns what to do. In fact, in the DOTA 2 international brings out the best players in the world, and they can’t even beat the machine in 1 vs 1.

Machine learning is when a computer can change it’s output without explicit directions from the programmer. Elon Musk started tweeting about how we should be scared of artificial intelligence more than North Korea.

It’s great to see an improvement in technology. We respect the professional players, but they have nothing against a machine that has played more DOTA2 games than everyone in the world combined.

Looking forward to the future, the possibilities are endless.
