The Great Brain Constipation Complication

A poem about writer's block.

What is this that you say?
Constipation of the brain?
What on earth are you on about now?
Well, listen up, I’ll describe it all.

Its when the words just won’t come out,
No matter how hard you push and shout.
You know they’re there, just floating about.
But something inside you is blocking them out.

So what to do about this situation?
It’s not like you can take laxative medication.

Well, I suppose you could, but it will do no good.
All that will happen is you’ll poop out your food.

You could take a break. Go on a vacation.
Unplug from the net and indulge in libations.
That might work; to unclog your works.
But with the costs these days,
How much is that worth?

Hey, I know! Why not take a class?
That’ll get you moving (and off of your ass).
You’ll sit with your peers and soon be grooving.
That complication to your brain you’ll be losing!

Oh, wait, what if you still can’t write?
That will make you feel even more uptight!

Well, that’s why it’s called writer’s block.
Because when you can’t write, you feel all f*cked up.
Don’t give up hope. Eventually, it will clear.
When you least expect it,
It will come gushing; never fear.

And no, not out of your rear.
Unless you took the laxative,
In which case, better stand clear!
