How Should We Tackle The Pestilences Of Life?

Trusting in God can accomplish anything!

The world is in turmoil over the COVID-19 outbreak that is affecting the majority of the world’s population. The media showcases the huge amount of infections and deaths that has been caused by this disease. Yet there is the understanding that it could get much worse before it even gets better.

Great precautions have been taken, some may seem extreme but for many leaders it is about protecting their citizens and themselves. The effect of the pandemic has reached serious proportions as it affects not only the health of persons, disrupting families and snatching loved ones from the earth but it has changed life for most of us.

The financial system of the world is under threat as each day goes by it just seems to be worse than the day before, the fear of the virus has caused great thinking minds to freeze and others to panic even if they won’t say there are concerned.

Hope

But does this mean that there is no hope or is this just a test of worse to come? Could it be preparing us to be able to handle anything that comes our way? I mean let us really give it a thought, everyone doesn’t believe in God or the Bible, but everyone has to live in this world until death comes.

That means what we believe only becomes relevant to us when we see what we put our trust in manifesting itself a defined manner. Whether anyone believes in God or not, we all have to face what lies before us and we need answers that men themselves can’t give. It means that at some point for many of us we will call on a power higher than ourselves.

Trust

I am willing to put my total trust in God and allow him to make a way for me. I don’t know what the next person may think, but I am hoping and praying that each of us will be willing to trust God at least once, to see if he will bring them through. Like Peter who had no other choice but to say, Lord help me when he began to sink in the boisterous waters, may we be willing to do the same. Jesus reached out his hand and took him from sinking to a watery death; we should allow him to save us from whatever comes.

Now all that said let’s take a look at the pandemic that lies before every one of us. I do believe first and foremost trust in God is paramount. I also believe that we should protect ourselves as best we can without being fearful and creating panic in our lives. It is for us to do what we can by practicing good hygiene and making our body’s as healthy as possible.

There is a lot of information on the internet about how you can protect yourself, use that advice wisely and leave the rest to God. There isn’t much more than this anyone can do since you can go many days without a symptom.

Summary

To simply sum up what I believe is key at this time in history:

1.Trust in God and do the best you can for yourself and others.

The elderly and sick will need help, some churches and communities have already reached out to help those who need help with getting medication and groceries, since those who have various forms of illness are more susceptible, any help they can get is welcomed.

2.Build up your immune system by eating healthy, if you don’t know what to do, read, knowledge is your friend.

There are various foods that build your immunity such as , green (leafy) vegetables, foods rich in antioxidant like plums and berries, “purple” fruits. Lots of vitamin c especially in natural form. Garlic is very good at fighting many infections so eating garlic raw is a good idea. If you drink tea, add ginger to your diet, if you haven’t already.

3.Practice good hygiene and take the advice the health professional give and run with it.

Wash your hands often, alcohol and hand sanitizer is your friend, but you can wash your hands as often as you like. The more you do it and the habit is developed the better for you and those close to you. It may be difficult but avoid touching your face especially if you hands haven;t been washed.

4. Avoid large crowds and that is already mandatory for many countries.

There is no reason to travel unnecessarily, especially with the potential for any disease to spread rapidly. It is wise to avoid traveling, if possible and shun large crowds at all cost. Many countries have closed their borders in an effort to protect their citizens but this still applies to short distances.

You are also advised not to shake hands, hug or any other form of contact, it may seem tough but its necessary.

My heart goes out to all of those who have suffered and my prayers are with the families of all who have been affected.
